New Replica GRP chimneys for Aigantighe Art Gallery

IFS was approached to see if we could help during a refurbishment and strengthening project for the Aigantighe Art Gallery. This Historic building had masonry chimneys with hand crafted clay pots atop. The old structures had become structurally unsuitable but the project architects wanted to maintain the historic architecture of the building and IFS was engaged to provide a light weight solution. Our meticulous process began with full site measurements of the existing old earthquake risk chimneys, followed by the creation of a detailed 3D model and utilizing our in-house 5-axis CNC router as well as taking moldings from the original hand made parts, we crafted precise plugs and fabricated temporary tooling. Finally, we fabricated the chimneys and expertly installed them on-site. This project not only showcases our commitment to quality craftsmanship but also highlights our ability to blend modern technology with historical preservation.
